I’m not even sure where or how to begin, but I’ll just lay everything out in the way it appears to me.
Sometime Saturday or Sunday (after PoV 9b started), Jenna makes a post in staff that comments about the PoV and something along the lines of how tough it is. And in that post, she asks me what the correct answers are. To which, I replied, thinking nothing of it.
The next day, when I went back into staff, I saw that Jenna’s post was gone. Odd.
At that point, Barack was the last to post his answers for veto, and despite saying that he hoped he was “lucky enough to win this crap shoot” his answers were VERY good, in fact, the best, and enough to win him the PoV.
At this point, things started to add up, and as much as I would consider Barack and Jenna friends, I knew that they were close, and so naturally my instincts told me that something was fishy.
I checked the security log and saw that Jenna deleted her post about PoV at 1:38. At that point, I noted her IP address from which the post was deleted. Then, I checked Barack’s IP address, and the post in which he gave his answers matched the IP address from which Jenna deleted the post.
Further investigation showed that the IP address was consistent for Barack’s most recent posting history, indicating that this IP matches his computer. After looking at Jenna’s IP addresses for her most recent posts, there were 2 OTHER IP addresses, none matching this most recent one from which her account had been logged in.
At that point, I texted both Barack and Jenna. Jenna claimed she hadn’t been logged in for the past 3 days and that she did not make or delete any post concerning the most recent PoV. Barack denied using Jenna’s account to access the board. When given a chance to explain, he had no explanation, other than that he didn’t do it.
Why do the IPs match?
Why would the post be deleted in the first place, unless to hide something?
Why would Barack’s answers appear within an hour of Jenna’s post being deleted?
How, if it was a “crap shoot” did Barack do MUCH better than everyone else?
In conclusion, it is my judgement that Barack cheated. For this, Barack will be expelled from the house and ineligible to participate in jury. James will take his jury spot.
If you have any questions or concerns, please PM me or find me on AIM.
To Barack; I know you are denying that you cheated, but I believe the evidence proves otherwise. I’m sorry it came to this, but I did give you a chance to come clean, and you provided no explanation aside from denying that you cheated.
