The Color of Victory [/b]
Use a photo-editing program (many computers come equipped with one or you can use photobucket.com as a free one) to color the above picture. You will be scored on the following categories:
1. Color Scheme - Do the colors go well together or does it look like a rainbow threw up on your image? Be careful not to use too much or too little color (5 points possible for a well-thought out and interesting color scheme)
2. Neatness - Is it apparent that time was put into this challenge or did you rush to get it done? Staying in the lines is more important than anything, and for the part of the image with Penn, just do your best not to completely cover up the black lines that help distinguish detail. Leaving some parts of Penn white might even be in your best interest. (5 points possible for near perfect neatness)
3. Extra - This is where the judges can just give an overall score of how much they liked your picture without having to conform to a specific category. 5 points if they loved it, 4 points if they liked it, 3 points if it was ok, 2 points if they weren't fond of it, 1 point if they disliked it, 0 points if they hated it.
4. BONUS - I colored my own little section of paper and used Crayola brand crayons (3 different colors to be exact). You will try to identify which 3 colors I used (from this list of 133 standard colors). For each color that you correctly identify, you will get your score multiplied by the following multipliers:
1 correct color identified = Score x 1.5 2 correct colors identified = Score x 2 3 correct colors identified = Score x 2.5
You may submit 6 guesses for this bonus.
Submissions due no later than 7pm EST Tuesday (a little extra time since this is a creative challenge and might require some extended work time). Any questions, post here.
Good luck!

P.S. Feel free to add backgrounds, textures, stamps, etc. But please do NOT add photo-like pictures. And, while you might add special pizazz, the judges will be informed that they are not to award points based on the level of skill it requires to add the pizazz, but more so whether or not the pizazz goes well with the overall conception of the piece. Thus, they will not simply award you points because you found a cool background or used an awesome photo editing technique, but rather, they will award points if that said background or technique help to flesh out the color scheme and/or overall neatness/concept of the image itself. Also, remember the handy tip that less is sometimes more. That's not to discourage you from trying something a little more creative, but don't get too caught up in the graphics skill portion of this challenge, and instead, focus on the overall presentation and conceptual idea of your work.
Hope that makes sense!
Btw, I am not the judge, but there will be 3 random judges (most likely family members of mine) who will be given the criteria and then asked to score each piece with the same information I have given you, including the tips/warnings I mentioned in this post as well.
Any questions, send them my way!

My fate comes down to coloring. Now I wish I colored inside the lines as a wee lad.
